The changes in the microstructure and the resistance against gasification waste melting furnace slag of MgO- Al2O3 system spinel ceramics by the addition of ZrO2 were investigated. The densification effect of ZrO2 on the MgO- Al2O3 system spinel ceramic (hereafter called spinel ceramic) with the stoichiometric composition containing 50 mol%, MgO was remarkable, It was observed that file starting temperature of densification was decreased by adding ZrO2. and its effect was observed even in the case that contains ZrO2 2 exclusive volume %.
