内容简介An effective way to extend the service life of a taphole mix for the blast furnace, ensure stable drilling operation, and secure a sufficient tap hole length is to modify the mix so that its texture would acquire a higher density at high temperatures ~(1),2)) We achieved this goal by adopting such methods as reducing low-temperature volatiles contained in binders, reducing the amount of binders by using fine powders, and adjusting the thermal expansion coefficient of the mix. This paper presents those methods and the results of a field test of different mixes in a large blast furnace.
