内容简介

Heat exchange tubes made of heat resistant metal have been used to take out the thermal energy efficiently from waste incinerators for use in electric power generation and so on. The outsides of the tubes are exposed to the incinerator atmosphere resulting in direct contact with the incineration residue or its melt. Decrease of heat transmission efficiency due to the adhesion of residue becomes a problem in the case of low temperature, but material corrosion is not a consideration. On the other hand, the use conditions for the tube materials are going to become more and more severe because the temperature of waste incinerators has tended recently to become higher. This is because of concern for dioxin emissions, and, in addition, heat exchange under as high a temperature as possible improves the heat exchange efficiency. If the temperature rises to around l000 deg C, the pressureless sintered silicon carbide should be used because metal materials cannot withstand these conditions. Accordingly, the high temperature corrosion of silicon carbide by incineration residue was studied.
