内容简介

Plant trial work has shown the following benefits from using the argon bubbler/weir and dam system. · increased tundish sequence lengths by 15 percent · reduced alumina flushes by 37 percent, (measured from stopper trace data) · reduced alumina in pore tube by 42 percent (measure by plant personnel) · increased alumina in tundish slag by up to 7 percent · reduced alumina in mould slag by up to 5 percent. Penn Refractories' argon bubbler, dam and weir are fitted as standard to all slab caster tundishes at a major steel plant. Plant evaluations have also shown that baffles have improved inclusion flotation on the bloom caster at Corus Teesside and Scunthorpe Works, this has led to a significant reduction in impurity levels and steel qualities.
